Postgraduate Education

The Plateau Atmosphere and Environment Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province (PAEKL) recruit graduate students based on School of Atmospheric Sciences, Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT). The college was authorized to confer Master’s degree of Atmospheric Sciences as first-level discipline, which includes three second-level disciplines, as Meteorology, Climatology, Atmospheric Physics and Environment. Atmospheric Sciences is recognized as the traditional and preponderant discipline and the key discipline of Sichuan Province. The teaching and research team was composed of outstanding teachers and researchers with high academic level and reasonable construction of knowledge and age. They has been making continuous efforts in the research of weather dynamics at Tibetan Plateau, East Asian monsoon circulation system, climate diagnosis and atmospheric numerical simulation of Tibet Plateau for over thirty years.  The team  has made outstanding achievements and won a number of Provincial science and technology Awards. For now, apart from persistent research interests above, new research areas has been extended in fields of ecological environment monitor, GPS remote sensing water vapor, application of radar-satellite remote sensing data, and atmospheric boundary.

The researchers received funding from Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program) continuously in the recent 10 years. They has led or participated in more than 50 national-level projects, supported by international cooperative projects, National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program), National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program), Nature Science Foundation of China, and national R&D programs. Besides, there are over 30 provincial-level projects and over 100 horizontal projects. All these projects achieves the research grant for approximately 40,000,000 RMB in total. Because of their excellent work, the researchers from the college won 10 provincial-level awards, including 4 Second-prize and 6 Third-prize respectively.
